My Belguin grandmother was not necessarily the happiest person who walked the Earth, but she had very ingenious ways of cooking, drying, and preserving food. She had to. She went through the Depression with eight children.
I was used to seeing grapes and berries drying on an old window screen. No, she didn't cover the food stuffs or worry about the chemical makeup of the screen. We all survived.
And speaking of surviving, this lovely above is on my short ranged bucket list. A ten pound sun oven (comes with the pots) from Sun Oven Society. Best price out there, I believe, plus each sales subsidizes the sale to someone in a third world country who truly need one!
